His marriage :
In the early years of his life, Imam Ali lived with his parents, but when he turned eight his father had a financial setback, and it became very critical. So, he no longer was able to afford to raise his many sons, wherefore Abi Talebs brother and his nephew Prophet Mohammad shared adopting the children, Imam Alis destiny was to be adopted by Prophet Mohammad, to sleep in his lap and to grow up in his house.
Thus, when Prophet Mohammads first Divine Revelation took place in Hira cave on the Light (al-Noor) Mount, Imam Ali was the first boy to believe in him (right after Lady Khadija bint Khwailed). And because he was Almighty Gods Revelation writer, no one but him knew the interpretation of all of the Holy Quran Verses, as he got it right from Prophet Mohammad (saw). Therefore, because of all of these reasons, his marriage was special. He was a very poor day laborer . He was not a merchant nor a proprietor. Whereas the Prophets daughter, Lady Fatima (pbuh) had been proposed to by many noble Muslims of leaders and wealthy people, whom were all rejected by Gods Messenger (saw), whose only answer was that he was waiting for Gods order in her marriage. Almighty Gods order for her was to marry the poor Ali, who sold his armor, which he used to protect himself with during wars, in order to pay her dowry, when she was the daughter of the Governor and the Ultimate Ruler of Yathreb city at that era.
Nevertheless, she married Ali (pbuh) not because he was the wealthiest, but because he was the purest and the most faithful. This was all the Exalted Almighty Gods arrangement, to keep the Prophets lineage (saw) in the children of the Imam and Lady Fatima. For none of the Prophets children survived, male nor female, except for Fatima. And any reports of God messengers daughters, they were not really his own, they were his wives daughters. His only daughter was Lady Khadija bint Khwaileds daughter Lady Fatima Al Zahra, Imam Alis wife (pbuh).
